Sunflower seed is one of the important edible oil sources. In recent ten years, the demands of sunflower seed oil rise constantly. As one of four edible oil, it is the widely used edible oil with palm oil, soybean oil and palm oil.
Since 1980 to 2018, the output of sunflower oil rise from 4.6 million tons to 19 million tons, 4.2 times increasing. The export of sunflower seed oil rise form 1 million to 8.5 million, 9 times increasing. The main exporters are Ukraine, Russia, Argentina, EU, Turkey. The top importers are India, EU,China, Turkey, Egypt, Iraq, South Africa, Mexico, Uzbekistan.
Sunflower seed oil obtained by cold pressing has features as follows: light color, low phosphorus content, ect, while crude sunflower seed oil has wax content and slight turbidity at low temperature. Sunflower seed was cold pressed to obtain crude oil, then the crude sunflower seed oil was degummed, dried and dewaxed under certain conditions, and the dewaxing conditions of cold pressed sunflower seed oil were mainly studied. The dewaxing conditions were optimized by single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment as follows: crystallization temperature 10°C, crystallization time 16 h and stirring speed 12r/min. Under the optimal conditions, the contents of wax and unsaturated fatty acids in refined cold pressed sunflower seed oil were 27.8 mg/kg and 90.26%, respectively.
